‘Monster Mirror’ Hallowe’en PR prank shocks unsuspecting moviegoers

Pepsi Max, riding on its ‘Unbelievable’ marketing strapline, partnered with Odeon Cinemas to create this Hallowe’en PR stunt:

Using facial tracking technology similar to this face substitution site that lets you ‘try on’ celebrity faces, including Sean Connery, Bryan Cranston and Rihanna (try it, it’s awesome), the ‘Monster Mirror’ prank aimed to shock members of the public by substituting their faces in bathroom mirrors for scarier visages.

Sort of like that one scene in Poltergeist where the guy rips his face off in the mirror, but with less facemeat.

As you can see in the image above, the Facebook embedded video has had more than 2 million views, compared to the 70,000 or so on the YouTube upload.
